1. Scope

1.1. This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") applies to all Users of the Adema platform, regardless of access tier (Free, Token, Subscription, or Enterprise).

1.2. This AUP supplements and forms part of the Adema Terms of Service ("Terms"). Capitalised terms not defined here have the meanings in the Terms.

1.3. By using the Platform, you agree to comply with this AUP. Violation may result in enforcement action under clause 10.

2. Permitted Use

2.1. The Platform is designed for:

  • Property research, analysis, and due diligence.
  • AI-assisted report generation for personal or professional use.
  • Planning application research and feasibility assessment.
  • Property valuation analysis and market intelligence.
  • Environmental, flood, and risk assessment research.
  • Internal business use by the account holder and Authorised Users.
  • Incorporation of outputs into client-facing professional deliverables by Paid Users (see clause 2.2).

2.2. Paid Users (Token and Subscription) may include Platform outputs in reports, advice, and deliverables provided to their own clients as part of the User's professional services, provided they: (a) include the disclaimers required by the AI & Output Disclaimers document; (b) include the attributions required by the Attribution & Third-Party Data Notice; (c) do not present AI outputs as independent professional certifications (e.g., RICS valuations, solicitor's opinions); and (d) verify outputs before relying on them or including them in client work. Full Professional Use Rights and conditions are set out in the Terms of Service (clause 6.7).

2.3. Free Tier Users may use outputs for internal, personal, and evaluation purposes only. Free Tier outputs may not be included in client-facing deliverables or professional reports. Upgrade to a paid plan to access Professional Use Rights.

3. Prohibited Conduct - General

You must not:

3.1 Illegal activity

  • Use the Platform for any purpose that violates applicable law, regulation, or third-party rights.
  • Use the Platform to facilitate fraud, money laundering, or any financial crime.
  • Submit false information to obtain an account, Tokens, or access to features.

3.2 Harmful content

  • Upload, transmit, or generate content that is defamatory, obscene, threatening, harassing, discriminatory, or incites violence.
  • Use the Platform to stalk, harass, or intimidate any person.
  • Submit content that infringes any third party's intellectual property, privacy, or other rights.

3.3 Misrepresentation

  • Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely state or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Present AI-generated outputs as human-authored professional advice (e.g., as a surveyor's report, solicitor's opinion, or architect's certificate) without appropriate disclosure.
  • Remove, alter, or obscure any attribution, disclaimer, or notice from Platform outputs.

4. Prohibited Conduct - Technical

You must not:

4.1 Reverse engineering and interference

  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Platform or its AI models.
  • Attempt to access, probe, or test the vulnerability of the Platform or any associated system or network, except through our responsible disclosure programme (clause 9).
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Platform, servers, or networks connected to the Platform.
  • Introduce malware, viruses, worms, trojans, or any malicious code.

4.2 Scraping and bulk extraction

  • Use automated tools (bots, scrapers, crawlers, spiders) to access, download, or extract data from the Platform.
  • Systematically download, copy, or archive Platform outputs or data beyond what is reasonably necessary for your own legitimate use.
  • Use the Platform to build or populate a database, dataset, or data product for distribution or resale (this does not prevent Paid Users from incorporating individual outputs into their own professional work product per clause 2.2).
  • Access the Platform via any means other than the provided web interface or authorised API (where API access is included in your plan).

4.3 Rate limits and circumvention

  • Exceed or attempt to circumvent rate limits, usage caps, or fair-use thresholds applicable to your access tier.
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent limits, obtain additional free allowances, or avoid enforcement action.
  • Use VPNs, proxies, or other techniques to disguise your identity for the purpose of circumventing access restrictions.
  • Share, transfer, or sell your account credentials, Tokens, or access rights to any third party.

5. AI-Specific Restrictions

You must not:

5.1 Model abuse

  • Attempt to extract, reconstruct, or reverse-engineer the weights, training data, system prompts, or architecture of any AI model used by the Platform.
  • Submit prompts designed to "jailbreak", bypass safety filters, or manipulate AI models into producing prohibited content.
  • Use prompt injection or similar techniques to override the Platform's intended behaviour.

5.2 Output misuse

  • Present AI-generated property valuations as RICS-compliant formal valuations unless produced in conjunction with a qualified surveyor.
  • Rely on AI-generated flood, environmental, or contamination assessments as substitutes for professional environmental surveys.
  • Use AI outputs to make lending decisions, insurance underwriting decisions, or other regulated financial decisions without independent professional verification.
  • Resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit AI-generated outputs in bulk, as a data feed, or as a standalone product or service (this does not prevent Paid Users from incorporating individual outputs into professional deliverables provided to their own clients under the Professional Use Rights in the Terms of Service clause 6.7).

5.3 Training and competitive use

Use Platform outputs to train, fine-tune, or benchmark any competing AI model or product.

Systematically feed Platform outputs into another AI system to create a derivative product.

6. Competitive Use

6.1. You must not use the Platform to develop, improve, or operate a product or service that competes with Adema or any of its features.

6.2. This includes (without limitation) using Platform data, outputs, or functionality to build property intelligence tools, AI property analysis services, or similar proptech products.

6.3. If you are unsure whether your intended use constitutes competitive use, contact support@adema.ai before proceeding.

7. Account Security

7.1. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.

7.2. You must not share your login credentials with any other person (except where multi-seat access is included in your plan, in which case each Authorised User must have their own credentials).

7.3. You must notify us immediately at support@adema.ai if you become aware of any unauthorised use of your account.

7.4. You are liable for all activity under your account unless you can demonstrate that the activity was caused by our security failure.

8. Third-Party Integrations

8.1. If you connect the Platform to third-party services (via API, webhooks, or integrations), you must ensure that the third-party service complies with this AUP and applicable law.

8.2. You are responsible for any data you export from the Platform to third-party services and for ensuring compliance with any licence restrictions on Platform outputs (see Attribution & Third-Party Data Notice).

9. Responsible Disclosure

9.1. If you discover a security vulnerability in the Platform, we ask that you report it responsibly:

  • Email abuse@adema.ai with a description of the vulnerability.
  • Do not exploit the vulnerability or access data beyond what is necessary to demonstrate the issue.
  • Do not disclose the vulnerability publicly until we have had a reasonable opportunity to address it (we aim for 90 days).

9.2. We will not take enforcement action against good-faith security researchers who comply with this clause.

9.3. We do not currently operate a paid bug-bounty programme, but we may recognise responsible disclosures at our discretion.
